I recently came across the concept of a 101 Things in 1001 Days list while searching for things to do at home during the coronavirus pandemic. The idea is to create a list of goals and fun things you want to accomplish in roughly 3 years. It’s sort of like answering one of those “where do you see yourself in 5 years?” questions. You all know I love making lists and goal-setting, so I couldn’t resist trying my own!
At the end of 2019, I decided to completely scrap all of the professional goals I had made for 2020. I realized that in the past couple of years as a new business owner, I was letting my perfectionism get the best of me. It was significantly impacting my ability to reach my goals. Undoubtedly, my favorite achievements or projects I’ve created have never come out of a perfectly executed goal! So instead, I wrote a list of what I want more of in life and business, with everything from dancing at concerts, lazy weekends, and doing crafts just for fun. I’m glad I listened to that intuitive hit to rip up my goals for 2020, because COVID stepped in and would’ve done it for me anyway!
When I came across the 101 Things in 1001 Days concept, I thought it was a perfect combination of a “things I want more of” list and a goals list. 1001 days is roughly 2.75 years, so there’s also a mix of things I can do now, or in when it’s safe to do so pending the pandemic. Having just gotten married and in a new phase of my business, it feels like such a great time to add some fun, flexible goals to my life!
I hope my list gives you ideas and inspiration to create your own 101 Things in 1001 Days list. If you’re inspired to make your own list, email me or tag me on Instagram and let me know! I would love to cheer you on!
101 Things in 1001 Days
My 1001 days begins on July 28, 2020 and ends on April 25, 2023. Because I want to keep my list flexible, I am giving myself permission to fill in the last 22 items as I think of new exciting things I want to do! I will link to any blog posts that relate to my completion of these goals as well.
