I can’t believe it’s been almost two months since Charleston Fashion Week! I was there all week covering the event for the production team. Beauty and fashion are my jam, so it’s such a joy to photograph Charleston’s biggest fashion event of the year. I also photographed last year if you want to see my recap on the blog here. Here’s a little description of how the week went, but the best way to feel what it’s like to be there is to scroll the photos!
In-Store Events
Before each night at the tents, a local Charleston store hosted an event to show off Charleston’s fashion scene and host VIP’s like New York Fashion Week creator Fern Mallis or Courtney Wartman of Who What Wear. My favorite event was a secret garden party at a boutique called Julep. They have an amazing courtyard, a perfect spot for cocktails!
Street Style
I also photographed street style as people arrived at the tents every night. The range of styles is incredible and amazing for people watching!
Backstage
The last two nights I photographed all of the backstage action! I love the energy back there. Everyone is running around like crazy trying to put on the best show possible. Last second hair & makeup changes are made seconds before models step on the runway. I kinda feel like I’m in the Devil Wears Prada back there.
Runway
I also photographed the runway shows every night. The main event is the Emerging Designer competition, and this years’ did not disappoint! My three favorites were Joan Madison, Emilie Schroeder, and winner Tygerian Burke.
See you at the tents next year! Thanks to my friend and blogger Hillheady for this photo of me at the tents!
