Turks & Caicos
Last week, I flew to the Turks & Caicos islands for two photoshoots. Sounds like I’ve been glamorously jet-setting, right?! The truth is, I am so grateful to travel for these jobs! The first shoot was wedding portraits of my friend Shree and her husband Phil. They married a year ago in Charleston, but they never did a big celebration or had photos taken to mark the occasion. Shree and Phil planned this trip to Turks & Caicos as their one-year anniversary celebration and brought me along to photograph them!
I got a taste of the incredibly blue water as I was flying in. I spent summers growing up going to my grandparents’ house in Destin, Florida, but the water doesn’t compare! That turquoise really takes your breath away! Shree and Phil scoped out Leeward Beach as our shoot location before I arrived. The beach was incredibly quiet and peaceful- perfect for our shoot! Apparently the busy season in Turks & Caicos is January-May, so we were lucky enough to avoid the crowds. Shree found an incredible hair & makeup artist and florist on the island. Everything looked gorgeous with the dress she bought last year.
The following day after a little beach time, we explored downtown Grace Bay and decided it would be a perfect spot for a few more casual photos. We found a perfect healthy breakfast spot and had a delicious Italian dinner there, too!
The other photoshoot I did while I was in Turks & Caicos was for Charleston-based company ZAGS. ZAGS makes sunwraps and shirts that protect you from the sun. They are UPF 50+, which is perfect for the Turks & Caicos sun (it feels extra intense here)! I’ll be sharing those shots in a separate post soon, but I am SO excited about them I can hardly wait to show you!
Until next time, Turks & Caicos!
