Cannon Street in downtown Charleston is a favorite shopping stop of mine, and it just keeps getting better! You’ll find Cannon’s newest addition, Cannonborough Collective, on the corner of Cannon and St. Phillip. Last Saturday I stopped in the shop for their opening party with Shree (check out my 3 tips for an on-brand photoshoot with Shree here.) My friends Liz Martin of The Charleston Weekender and Mimi Striplin of The Tiny Tassel opened the store in order to bring a new concept to the downtown shopping scene- a balloon shop!
Cannonborough Collective is first and foremost a balloon shop, carrying unique balloons with a super fun confetti add-on option. They also have special balloons of the week, like pineapples and champagne bottles (!)
Liz asked me to photograph the store and I was beyond excited because it supports the amazing local designers and creators of Charleston. The shop is full of products like hand-painted oars by Revival 5 Creative, candles by Park and Madison, custom gift boxes by The Blue Root, and prints by The Town Serif. You can even design your own bouquet with flowers from Fetes de Fleurs. Liz was on Lowcountry Local Live to talk about the shop, and the segment featured a few of my photos (see the segment here!)
I first discovered how fantastic Cannon Street was last year after stopping into Mac & Murphy, the best stationery store in town. I cannot resist a paper goods store, you guys! They have unique handmade cards from all over the country as well as locally designed goods. I knew they’d have a perfect Mother’s Day card so I grabbed one after the Cannonborough Collective opening.
While you’re perusing Cannonborough Collective and Mac & Murphy, you should also stop into Five Loaves Café for lunch (my absolute favorite lunch spot in Charleston) and Sugar Bakeshop for a made-from-scratch treat. If you’re looking for a little shopping adventure off the beaten path of King Street, Cannon is your new go-to! Thanks for having me, Liz and Mimi!
