When it came time to dream up the theme for my daughter’s nursery, I knew right away it had to be strawberry-themed! I’ve always loved strawberries, as my favorite food as a kid, and also as design elements in my adult years. But, I didn’t want the nursery decor to necessarily scream strawberry theme. My vision was a strawberry nursery that felt chic and subtle, and was something that she could grow into.
I had so much fun curating all the details for our strawberry-inspired nursery, and I’m excited to share everything with you! Whether you’re planning a full-on theme or just looking for sweet strawberry accents, I hope these ideas inspire you.

Strawberry Accent Wall
The first step was figuring out the wall color. The room was already painted Sherwin Williams Window Pane, a white with a green tint. I realized this color would pair perfectly with the pink and green tones of strawberries. So, I decided to keep it and add an accent wall to tie it all together.

Naturally, I started my search for strawberry wallpaper. Unsurprisingly, my top picks were also the priciest (I love this one from Love & Design!). In my search, I stumbled across a DIY tutorial on A Beautiful Mess for hand-stamped strawberry crib sheets. That post led me to a home tour in which someone used this tutorial to stamp their laundry room walls! I decided to try stamping the wall myself (if it didn’t turn out, I could always paint over it, right!?).
I started with Sherwin Williams Champagne as the base color. Then I picked up acrylic paint in 2 shades of pink, white (for mixing), and green for the stems. For the stamps, my husband and I got resourceful. He cut some scrap wood into blocks from the garage, and I picked up a 99-cent sheet of craft foam.
I sketched a few strawberry shapes and landed on my top three. Then, I cut them out of the foam, added “seed” holes for texture, and glued them to the wood blocks. After some trial and error, I realized the stamps worked best with a thin layer of paint brushed on rather than dipping them directly into the paint.

We used a grid method to create an orderly but not overly perfect wallpaper effect for the stamping itself. We stuck pieces of painter’s tape on the wall in straight, evenly spaced vertical and horizontal lines. Then we rotated through the three strawberry shapes and shades of pink. We didn’t worry too much about spacing the shapes and shades out perfectly. I wanted a bit of a hand-painted look! Once the strawberries were dry, I hand-painted stems on each strawberry. Months later, I spotted one near the ceiling that I missed- ha!
This DIY strawberry accent wall was such a fun, creative project, and it was simpler than I expected! But if DIY isn’t your thing, there are plenty of wallpaper and peel-and-stick options online to achieve a similar look.
Strawberry Nursery Furniture
Before buying any furniture, I measured the room and mocked up a layout to figure out the best use of space. Since this room is on the smaller side, I didn’t want it to feel too cramped.
The first piece of furniture we chose was our glider, a nursery must-have! I landed on the Nuture& Glider Plus in Ivory after hearing about it from another mom. It’s got all the bells and whistles: power recline, a USB port, and adjustable lumbar and head support. Luxury!
This glider quickly became the heart of the room. During those early breastfeeding days, I practically lived in it. Now it’s our cozy spot for reading books and cuddles.

Next, we chose a crib and dresser from Delta Children. If you’re looking for a stylish yet budget-friendly option, this set is a solid pick. That said, if you’re after furniture that will stand the test of time and hold up for multiple kids, you might want to consider splurging on something more durable. We decided to invest in the glider and go for a more affordable option for the crib and dresser. It’s all about prioritizing what matters most to you!

For the bookshelf, I needed something tall and slim to fit the small space, and I ended up choosing this white one from Target. It’s simple, affordable, and perfect for the early years in a kid’s room.

Strawberry Nursery Decor
Now for my favorite part of designing our strawberry nursery: the decor accents! This is where the space really came together.
After we settled on the glider, crib, and dresser, my next task was to set up the changing area. I found a perfect centerpiece in this mirror from the Magnolia collection at Target. It has a small shelf, which is great for storing essentials like diaper rash cream and lotion. While Essie has started grabbing things off of it during diaper changes, it hasn’t been a big issue!

The tiny print in the gold frame has a special significance! I went into labor on the night of a “strawberry moon.” Coincidence? I think not! My mother-in-law found an artist (Saskiamakesthings) on Etsy who paints watercolors of different moons, and got me this print as a gift! I popped it in a square gold float frame from Amazon and hung it right where we can see it every day during diaper changes.
Speaking of art, I grabbed another strawberry-themed piece of art from local Charleston artist Blakely Made. The print is called Strawberry Sunset. I decided it needed a fun bobble frame, and after a little research, I decided I could DIY it.

I picked up a simple wood frame from Target, bobbles on Amazon, and green spray paint from Lowe’s. It’s not perfect but I think it turned out so cute! If DIY isn’t your thing, there are plenty of beautiful bobble frames on Etsy to save you the trouble!
A few months into using and living in Essie’s room, I quickly realized we needed a set of hooks ASAP. This light wood one fit perfectly under the bobble frame and has been a total game-changer. No more PJs and sleep sacks draped over the crib or ending up on the floor!
On the other side of the room, I also added two tiered bookshelves, which are perfect for the skinny space behind the closet door. These shelves have been amazing for organizing her favorite books right by the glider. As she gets taller, she’ll be able to reach more of the shelves on her own.

Over on the glider, I added a tiny pillow I found at an antique shop we love to frequent near my in-laws’. I love that it adds a bit of vintage to a otherwise modern room. I took the blue-green color of the leaves in the pillow as a hint for the rug, which I picked up on Wayfair. The circle shape adds a fun movement to the room and this rug had any size you could need available!

Another vintage vibe we added to the nursery is Essie’s quilts! We are so lucky to have two hand-made quilts from family members hanging in her room. Hunter’s mom made the first hanging above the rocker using fabric scraps from her grandmother’s collection. The second my aunt made to match for Essie’s strawberry nursery decor.

When I was pregnant, we went on a hometown tour of our hometowns of Cincinnatti and Indianapolis after a baby shower in Ohio. In Indianapolis, I found this strawberry window decal that makes rainbows appear all over her walls when the light is just right. She gets so excited when she sees them pop up and it adds an element of fun that delights me, too.

Target made it very easy to round out the other decor accents. I picked up these bow blackout curtains, a matching braided basket, and a pink lamp all from the Pillowfort collection. Easy!

Wrapping Up
We had so much fun putting together our strawberry-themed nursery. Essie really does love eating strawberries (phew!) as much as she likes pointing to them on her wall and around her room. The strawberry nursery decor felt like the perfect way of merging a design theme that felt personal for me as well as a cute kids’ theme that I think she’ll enjoy for many years. If you’re getting inspired for your nursery, first congratulations! And second, I hope our nursery inspires you to design something that feels special for you and your baby!
