01. Pitch Yourself to Cold Leads
The cold pitch email template helps you connect with potential clients who haven’t yet expressed interest in your services. These are people who may not know you or haven’t engaged with your brand before. Cold leads need a little extra effort—you’ll introduce yourself and show them why your services are worth their attention.
In a cold pitch email like the template inside the guide, you’ll want to highlight how your brand photography services can benefit them. Start by introducing yourself, explaining why you’re specifically interested in working with them, and highlighting how you can help them. Avoid overwhelming them with details about your packages or process; instead, emphasize the value they’ll gain from working with you.

02. Engage Warm Leads
The warm pitch email template is a follow-up for checking in on your warm leads. But who exactly are your warm leads?

These leads are already interested but might need a little reminder or encouragement to take the next step. Engaging with warm leads is easier than with cold leads because they’ve already shown interest and you don’t have to convince them of your value.
A simple, personalized follow-up email is key to helping warm leads take the next step toward becoming clients. When you build on the personal connection you’ve already started, you increase your chances of converting them into a client.

03. Ask a Previous Client to Hire You Again

To streamline this process, save a follow-up email as a template in your Client Management System (I use Dubsado) and schedule it to be sent automatically after a certain period following a shoot. I set this email to “Approve” in Dubsado to personalize it with details before sending it out.
04. Send an Email Newsletter to Nurture Clients and Leads
Building an email list is one of my top business priorities, and it should be for you too! If you haven’t started one yet, simply email your past clients and ask if they’d like to join your newsletter—that’s the start of your list! All you need to do is choose an email platform like Mailchimp, add your subscribers, and start writing. Let’s next focus on how to use emails strategically to engage with current and potential clients
If you’re just starting out with email marketing, consider sending a weekly, monthly, or quarterly newsletter to your clients. Include portfolio updates, behind-the-scenes glimpses of recent shoots, new offers, date availability, brand photography tips, and calls to action to book a shoot or follow you on social media.
To attract new clients, offer a free download on your website that solves a quick problem for your ideal client. For example, if you’re a brand photographer for artists in Indianapolis, Indiana, you could create a free download titled “The 5 Best Artistic Brand Shoot Locations in Indianapolis.” Your ideal client might search for this on Google or Pinterest and sign up for your list to access it. From there, you can nurture their interest with your newsletter, build trust, and eventually convert them into clients.
