Have you ever met someone whose personality matches their name perfectly? My branding photography client Sunny of Sunny Dublick Marketing is just that: sunny! Sunny’s bright personality is matched only by her big, sparkly smile, which came in handy for her marketing brand photoshoot. Sunny’s marketing firm helps small businesses simplify their marketing efforts. She takes everything off of her clients’ plates so they can keep doing what they do best. Sunny and I met years ago at a women entrepreneurs’ meetup in Charleston, SC and knew we wanted to work together eventually. Since then, Sunny and I have worked together twice to establish her visual brand and update it.
I wanted to share not one, but both of Sunny’s photoshoots with you today! Sunny’s shoots are an excellent example of how you can bring your interests and personality into your brand photos. Ready to see Sunny’s photos? Let’s get to it!
Brand Shoot with Sunny Dublick Marketing
Sunny’s First Brand Shoot
In our first shoot, I photographed Sunny both in her home office and downtown Charleston. As you can tell, Sunny is such a natural in front of the camera. She truly exudes sunshine, making my job as her branding photographer super easy.
Sunny’s goal with her first shoot was to have professional yet fun headshots that showed off her personality. It was important to Sunny that her potential clients know that she has an energetic personality before they even reach out. She also wanted some working shots to show her in her element doing what she does best. With this in mind, I encouraged Sunny to wear pieces she loves and use props like her phone, business cards, and her dog!
Sunny’s Second Brand Shoot
For our second shoot, Sunny and I selected four locations: Pacific Box & Crate, downtown West Ashley, Hampton Park, and Sunny’s apartment complex. I loved these locations because they gave us a more modern and urban style to work with. Downtown Charleston is my go-to for most shoots because there’s so much variety, but it is hard to escape that quintessential “Charleston” look. Pacific Box & Crate in particular has an industrial, streamlined style. It’s my go-to for clients that want something different than the typical downtown look.
In addition to running a successful marketing company, Sunny is also a painter! She knew of several murals around town that she considered as shoot locations. Ultimately, we settled on a row of murals in downtown West Ashley. We found several that fit into Sunny’s brand color scheme, and given that Sunny loves to paint she felt right at home!
Our last two locations were Hampton Park and Sunny’s apartment complex. She wanted to pose with her adorable puppy aptly named Buffy (after her love of Buffy the Vampire Slayer). I love that Sunny wanted to include these personal details into her shoot. Since she works so closely with fellow small business owners, she wants to make sure they feel like they truly know her.
Thank you, Sunny!
After our two branding shoots, Sunny left me this sweet note: “Abby is the best! She made me feel super comfortable and the shots turned out amazing. I was looking to get some updated head shots and images for my business website/social media and wanted to find someone that understood the vision I was looking for.
Abby made it super easy from the start. Her online portal made the process seamless from beginning to end, she was super flexible with the shoot date (as I happened to pick the week with the most unpredictable weather), and provided a ton of great recommendations for locations and poses. I can’t wait to work with Abby again!”
Thank you, Sunny! It has been a pleasure working with you on your brand images!
